Brecon RFC Under 15's


After a good 2006 – 2007 season with more wins than losesa nd new skills learned in the scrum and lineout the team has been developing

Well together and with the following boys, being chosen to play for the Powys Schools county team:

Alwyn Lee (Captain), Josh Davies, Jake Newman, Aaron Evans, Jack Jones, Darran Harris, Jack Bain, Davey Heardman, David Jenkins, Rhodri Morris, Oscar Klappholz, and Richard Marsh.

an exciting 2007 – 2008 season lay ahead.

We started in September with the boys 1st Rugby Tour, to London supported by local business. This was a truly excellent start.

With the boys being given a lesson in scrummaging by South African London Irish forwards coach an intense rugby weekend resulted in the first Vvctory against the prestigious Emanuel School.

This created excitement in the team and lead to some welcome new comers along with some old faces returning.

We did not perform so well at our next challenge U15s tournament in Lanidloes in poor weather conditions. We were beaten by faster fitter players. This prompted a move to turn the side in to a formidable force with players having the opportunity to undertake fitness, strength and movement training with Ian Jefferies. This started to have a very positive effect on the boys with one loss and 2 wins from our last three games.

A huge amount of effort went into beating Abertillery 38 – 12 in appalling freezing conditions with fine performances by Lloyd Davis, Alun Tay, Tom Morgan, Chris Morgan, Hughes and Man of the Match Davey Heardman.

The new players fitted in well with the team Dan Bowen, Alex Moses and Paris brining some extra strength in to the Forwards

Oscar Klappholz, Toby Vaughn and Billy Shepherd adding speed to the Backs.

As well as this busy season 7 boys were chosen by the High School to attend the Tour to Canada which

Resulted in resounding Wins.

We are really looking forward to the post Xmas matches not only with the local clubs

But also county and Blues Cup. Well done Boys Keep it Up.
