Consultative Meeting Wednesday 20th February 7:30pm

The Management Committee of Brecon RFC is considering a change in the way that the Club is managed. For too long the club has been dependant on the work of a very small number of people who, on a voluntary basis, have been managing an increasingly large business. Over the past few years it has become evident that there is need for increased support and a rationalised management structure to meet the Club’s current requirements and to plan and implement further development.

In order to address these needs a Development Committee was set up to look at changes which will help to facilitate a more effective and dynamic management. As a result of their deliberations and following consultation with a cross section of the membership, the committee has drawn up a Draft Management Structure (Outline Enclosed).

For the Plan to work effectively we need to ensure that all sections of the Club have the opportunity to consider the Draft Proposals and to present their views in appropriate consultative meetings. In addition we need to ensure that we have a full committee of active members who will carry the club forward. Some development work has taken place (refurbishment of the Front Bar) and plans are being prepared to raise funds to allow for the erection of floodlighting at Parc de Pugh.

If the Plan is agreed, even in modified form, then in the short term we would look to co-opt members onto the committee with a view to fully implementation of the new management structure.

It is essential for the future success and further development of the Brecon Rugby Club, both on and off the field, that there is a fully staffed, competent management structure in place. I would respectfully ask you make every effort to attend the meeting in order that you may be fully informed of what the club is hoping to achieve and at the same time have opportunity of expressing your own views on the proposals as we need to take this matter forward together as one united club.
