Brecon Mini’s Brilliance at Bromyard

Under 8's
Brecon played two games against Bromyard. The 1st game started with Bromyard playing at quite a slow pace. This style of play is not what Brecon are used to and it took a while for Brecon to adjust. The final score was 7- 4 to Bromyard with tries from the deadly duo of Callun James and Huw Thomas 3.
The 2nd game saw Brecon upping the pace to their level and this resulted in a fast open flowing game with a dazzling display of movement and handling skills used by all. Josh Pritchard and Callun (again!) scored 1 a piece with Rhys Pritchard scoring 3. The final score 5-4 to Brecon.

Under 9's
This was other fantastic performance by the young side, and showed all players putting in a tremendous effort. Sam Hellard ran over scoring two tries as did Dayfdd Edwards and Ben Amphlett, Gareth Price & Tom Whitcomb each scoring 1 each. This showed the level of support play amongst players. It was Ben Amphlett with his outstanding tackling that rightly earned him Man of the Match. Final score Brecon 8 - Bromyard 2

Under 10's
Brecon travelled away to Bromyard with two of it's front row members missing and having to adjust with some slightly different rules, but never the less it was Brecon that got of to a flying start with scrum-half Jac Powell racing down the pitch for his 1st try. This took Bromyard by surprise. They tried to regain themselves after the re start but Adam Wothers tore through the pack drew in the centre and then off loaded the ball to Jac who scored in the corner. Brecon kept applying pressure and before long found themselves near the try line. The forwards won back the ball and Alex Ryan sent the ball out to Tudor Rodrick to see him go over for his 1st of the day. Bromyard tried coming back at Brecon but Sophie Pritchard & George Rees put in some cracking tackles resulting in Bromyard loosing the ball. Dafydd Havard was quick on the pick up and tore off down the pitch and passed out to Tudor just as he was tackled and saw Tudor go over for his 2nd. It was Dafydd again who charged up the pitch but was stopped just short of the line. Mered Davies was close at hand to pick up and dive over.
The second half saw Bromyard re-start. Jac Powell caught the ball weaved his way through the Bromyard players( he had obviously watched Shane Williams the day before) and off load to Mered to see him go over for his second. Bromyard never gave up trying and scored two tries very quickly, so Brecon took the re start quickly. Llyr Davies chased and picked up the loose ball before sentding a pass out to Dafydd who saw Tudor speeding up along side him; Dafydd passed out to Tudor who dived over for his 3rd. Will Prosser standing off a maul saw a loose ball and his chance to pick up and power his way over the line. From re start it was Will again who caught the high ball, charged through the defence to offload to speedy Dafydd Havard who finally got a much deserved try in the far corner. It was Dafydd who started the next try when he passed to George who ripped through the Bromyard pack to give the ball out to Llyr Davies who sprinted down the line to score.
Brecon continued to apply pressure and found themselves near the Bromyard try line. Following a maul Tom Wood picked up the ball and crashed over. They found themselves in a similar position moments later Will charged over. Dafydd Havard again raced up the pitch for his 2nd try. But it was captain Adam Wothers who finished the scoring doing " A Shane" up the pitch and diving over to make the final score 70-10 to Brecon. A brilliant effort by all players.
